So, who are we???

‘The Hobby Specialists’ has been in the hobby industry since 1996.   In 2006, we began importing and distributing quality R/C aircraft and accessories to hobby shops.  Through our retailers all over Australia, we offer modellers superior products, with unmatched after-sales service!  We even offer spare parts for all of our range of ARFs – and you won’t have to wait months to get them!!

The Hobby Specialists does not sell to the public, so contact your local dealer and ask them to order your next model from us.  Check out our links page to find a THS dealer, or contact us by email and we’ll let you know where you can get these great models!  We have a wealth of modelling experience behind us – over 40 years of it! – so, if you have any questions, contact us at info@thehobbyspecialists.com.au  and we’ll do our best to solve your problem!

…and what do we sell???

We are proud to import and distribute E-DOMODEL, TM Models and VQ Models.  We selected these factories after sampling products from a number of international manufacturers.  From the smallest electric park flyer, to the biggest TOC-type gasser, we can supply you with a high quality model which is a delight to both build and fly, and one that you’ll be proud to own! 

Have a look at our ‘WARBIRDS’ page, and tell me if there’s a bigger range of more diverse subjects available anywhere else in the world!  You and your mates can try our Hawker Hurricanes, P-40s, P51s (both B’s and D’s – eight different colour schemes!!), our Zeros, Me109s, FW-190s, Kawasaki Ki-61s, Macchi-205 or Mig-3s.  Have some fun re-creating mock combats from WW2!!  If twins are your thing, check out the P-38 Lightning, the A-26 Invader or the big ‘un, the P-61 Black Widow!  The quality is excellent, and they fly beautifully.  Retracts and scale oleo struts are also available as optional extras for most models in the VQ range, at prices you won’t believe!  Get your local hobby shop to contact THS and we’ll have your new VQ Models ARF “winging” its way to you ASAP!  You can check them out at www.vqmodel.com as well as here on our site. 

…and then there’s our accessories!

Do yourself and your model a big favour and try one of our high quality, machined THS Aluminium Spinners, in sizes from 1.5” (38mm), right up to 6” (153mm) for those TOC monsters!  All come with adaptor nut, crankshaft spacers, allen bolt & key.  Adaptor nuts to suit all popular engines are available separately, so look for them in the distinctive THS packet at your local hobby shop – the quality and value will amaze you!!  While you’re there, check out the Duraglow-S On-board Glow System (recently reviewed in RCM News).  It’s THE way to avoid those costly dead sticks!!

STOP PRESS!!

Just arrived from VQ Models!  Following up on the success of the Kawasaki Ki-61 “Tony” WW2 fighter in .46 to .72 size, the factory has released the Tony in the larger .60 (2S) to .90 (4S) size.  Complete with flaps to add to the realism and flying enjoyment, it’s available in two authentic colour schemes.  Be the first at the field with this stunning new model!!

AND… yet another P-51D!  This time, VQ has produced a companion to the Bob Hoover Reno Racer by modelling the famous “DAGO RED”, in an up-to-the-minute livery.  For .46 to .72 engines (retracts and oleo struts optional), grab one and race your club mates to the first pylon!!

The new models just keep flying out!  Coming in January will be an upsized version of the Focke Wulf 190A.  This one will be for .60 (2S) to .90 (4S) engines.
